A Gospel of Matthew Scripture Study
Along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, Jesus sat down with his disciples, trailed by crowds seeking his next miracle, to begin what is famously known as The Sermon on the Mount. Jesus began this series of teachings with what has been called, “The Beatitudes,” eight principles that ring familiar of the Psalms and other Old Testament biblical wisdom. In this study, we'll take an 8-week pilgrimage to Tabgha, Israel, and Northern Italy to explore these teachings as well as how Francis of Assisi can be our example of a holy and intentional response to God's word.

I'm a Catholic priest and was blessed to lead a group of parishioners through the Hagios study on the Beatitudes and St. Francis of Assisi. We loved it! ... The Hagios Study does a great job of leading participants through a very accessible word study and then makes the application to the life of St. Francis.
The app and extra resources are great and really help bring the study to life. I would recommend it to parishes that are looking for a good and easily accessible Bible study, as well as to individuals who just want to go deeper themselves.
I'm looking forward to new studies from Hagios!

The scripture study, "The Beatitudes and Francis of Assisi" is a profound journey into the depths of the beatitudes themselves. The format for this scripture study is second to none. Relating different scriptures to the beatitudes themselves makes the beatitudes come alive and become more relatable. Learning the meaning and context of key words in the beatitudes, gives one a clearer insight into the message that is being articulated in each beatitude. Having time to reflect with the early church fathers and learn from their wisdom is another plus in the study of the beatitudes that I have not found elsewhere. Studying the enormous depth of the meaning of the beatitudes with someone as loved as St Francis makes this journey even more enjoyable and relatable. The photography in the study is stunning and allows one to feel as if they are on a real pilgrimage, while at the same time learning how to apply the beatitudes to one's life. This is truly a beautifully written and photographed study, the best I have seen on the beatitudes.
